Dear Resident, Thank you to everyone who attended our meeting last night. For those who couldn’t join, here’s what was discussed: New priorities for the next three months: Acquisitive crime across Histon and Cambourne Anti-social behaviour across Melbourn and Bassingbourn Updates on previous priorities: Tackling violent crime in Orchard Park, Histon and Impington Plain-clothes patrols have continued across the area, identifying a number of offences including cannabis possession. Two people were arrested in connection with the theft of a motorbike, dangerous driving and other motoring offences. Both remain under investigation and, since the arrests, no further offences have been reported on the busway. Knife crime Work to tackle knife crime has included the arrest of a person carrying a machete, the seizure of a knuckle duster and action against three people found carrying knives. Officers have also carried out 15 visits to known knife carriers and delivered 23 school talks focused on knife crime and its consequences. Elsewhere across the district Officers have continued to tackle ASB, theft and road-related offences across the district. Seven young people were dealt with following theft and ASB issues in Longstanton, with calls for service subsequently stopping, while three suspects have been arrested in connection with the Northstowe school burglary. ASB in Cottenham has also reduced following the arrest of the main suspects. Road and vehicle enforcement has included the seizure of 89 e-scooters and e-bikes, a vehicle displaying cloned plates and a motorbike in Meldreth. Officers also arrested a disqualified driver twice, who had eight previous disqualifications, and dealt with a repeat drink driver who was subsequently disqualified for a second offence. Three people were also arrested in connection with bulk shoplifting. 📅Next meeting: Online on 10 February at 7pm To attend and share your views, register using this link.
